EPLATTFORMA is a company operating in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) Wholesale market in Cyprus. This industry comprises all essential consumer goods in human life. FMCG products include household goods, functional foods, food and personal care products, hygiene and laundry products, and more.

Challenges and goals 

In order to reach a diverse range of customers and increase sales, EPLATTFORMA needed a powerful system with:

  • Being suitable with B2B capabilities
  • Being fast reliable and easy to navigate and use

As the first to start online wholesaling in the country, they faced the challenge of breaking the traditional retailers-sales rep relationship. They also required integration with their ERP and WMS to provide smooth end-to-end integration from order to store delivery. Thus, they decided to use Magento’s solution but faced some challenges when building Magento websites for use on mobile devices. Retailers need to have immediate access to product information, such as price and availability on the spot in a fast, easy and reliable way so they could browse the categories and order the products they need for their business anytime and anywhere. 

To solve problems, EPLATTFORMA expected to find a company that could deliver a robust APP that could incorporate most of their critical features for success and provide a fast and user-friendly solution. Then, they found SimiCart, which provided the Mobile App solution for Magento that integrated with their system.

SimiCart’s solutions

EPLATTFORMA decided to use Magento’s solution and required a company to deliver a robust app that could integrate with most of their customizations. SimiCart provided the Native App solution for Magento and worked with EPLATTFORMA to incorporate additional features. SimiCart maintained a single point of contact through an account manager, providing a reliable and quality response to their needs.

Registration Flow.

1. Registration Flow

EPLATTFORMA’s Website has a unique way of registering users to their site, which does not match the default registration process in the mobile app. This caused conflicts, and users were unable to create new accounts through the app. As a result of the mismatch between the Registration Flow of the Website and the Application (custom flow for the Website, default flow in Mobile App), various conflicts were exhibited when we proceeded with the Mobile Application Building.

To avoid any issues, SimiCart Teams recommended changes in the sign-up process in the application. Users can now enter their Zip/Postal Code and then click on Find Street to have their City and Country information filled in automatically.

In addition, the users are required to fill out some new fields, such as Street Number and Business Type. These fields are not part of the Magento Default but will are included in the custom flow. This makes the sign-up process more efficient and user-friendly, resulting in a better customer experience.

2. The layout of the product detail page 

As the main product category for EPLATTFORMA is groceries, many of the products have long names that do not fit in a single line in the default mobile app. In addition specific groupings and details needed to be displayed on the product page.. 

To solve this issue, SimiCart customized the product detail page layout to display the product name in a single line with three dots if the name exceeded the available space. 

Additionally, to improve the customer experience, SimiCart added an “Add to cart” button to the product listing page, which allowed customers to add products to their cart without having to navigate to the product detail page. They also added an option to increase or decrease the product quantity on this page, making the checkout process smoother.

3. Product Label 

The customers of the EPLATTFORMA website version are accustomed to using a 3rd-party Product Label extension, and the business expects that the product list display features and product details of this extension will remain consistent when they switch to the mobile app.

To deal with this problem, SimiCart integrated the Product Label extension into the app. This allowed them to display labels on products, such as “New Arrival” or “Best Seller”, which could help customers quickly identify the products they are interested in. This feature was added to both the product listing and product detail pages.
