With Magento 2, you can quickly create a new CMS page and switch it with the default home page.
The new page created from the backend can be added with text, images, and blocks of content. Here’s how to do it, you just need to follow this guide.
Add a new CMS Page
Step 1: Add a new page
Go to Admin panel, click Content > Elements > Page.
Click Add new page.
Fill out the Page Title.
If you do not want to publish the page immediately, set Enable Page to No.
In the Store View list, choose the store view on which the page will be displayed on.
Step 2: Design new page’s layout
In Magento Open Source
Open Content.
In the Content Heading box, enter the heading that you want to appear at the top of the page.
Complete the content and format the text as needed. Images, variables and widgets can be added.
Click Save.
For Magento Commerce
In the Content Heading box, enter the heading that you want to appear at the top of the page.
If enabled, the Page Builder stage and panel will appear below the Content Heading.
Complete the content and format the text as needed with the Page Builder tool.
Step 3: Fill out Meta Data
On the left panel, tap the Meta Data tab.
You can either accept the default URL key or enter another one.
Enter a Meta Title (less than 70 characters), Keywords and Description (ideally 156-160 characters) for the new page. This is essential for SEO.
Click Save and Continue Edit.
Step 4: Preview page
On the upper-right corner, click on the Preview link. This is to ensure that all settings are perfect.
Step 5: Publish Page
Select Edit in the Action column of the grid.
Set Enable Page to Yes.
Click the Save arrow and choose Save & Close.
Switch Home Page
On the Admin sidebar, go to Stores > Settings > Configuration.
In the left panel under General, choose Web.
Expand the Default Pages section and set CMS Home Page to the new page.
Click Save Config.
Click the Cache Management link and refresh any invalid caches.
