How to Delete Orders in Magento

After a fresh Magento installation, there will be sample/test orders in your Magento backend. When your site goes live, however, these orders must be deleted so as to not be mixed with real orders from your store. This guide will walk you through how to mass delete orders in Magento.

Deal with the issue in database

With some modifications in your database, your targeted orders can be deleted.

1. Remove orders one by one

set @increment_id='200000111';
select @order_id:=entity_id from prefix_sales_order_entity where increment_id=@increment_id;
delete from prefix_sales_order_entity where entity_id=@order_id or parent_id=@order_id;
delete from prefix_sales_order where increment_id=@increment_id;

Replace order_id by the ID of the order that you would like to delete, and prefix by the one you have chosen in your Magento site.

2. Remove all orders

Please note that this action will remove all of your orders without categorizing them. Thus, we do recommend you to do a full backup before implementing this.

Step 1: Log in to your PhpMyAdmin

Step 2: Run the following SQL commands in your database:

All of your orders will be successfully removed when the process is done.

Use script

You can create a file with the same level as index.php and quickly delete targeted orders with their ID. Run the following scripts in your file and replace orderId with the ID of the order that you would like to delete.

Your selected order is now completely removed from your store.
